A Message from Shanté

Surviving Her Silence was never just my story — it was always ours.

I survived by holding on to Faith in God through some of the darkest seasons of my life — through colorism, an inferiority complex, and the deep wounds of domestic violence. It was not easy. It took every ounce of strength and courage I had to open my mouth and speak about the things I desperately wanted to forget. Traumas that tried to bury me. Traumas that created a silence within me — with the loudest screams — that only someone who had lived the same fear could truly hear.

But God.

Through perseverance and resilience, I found my voice. I learned to maneuver through every feeling, every emotion, every experience — and in doing so, I didn't just tell my story. I gave voice to the silence of the many women still living behind fear, still pretending to smile, still hiding the truth behind their eyes from someone who turned out to be a wolf in sheep's clothing.

Every day, there is a woman too afraid to speak. And I want her to know — I see you. I hear you. Your silence does not define you. Breaking it is the key to your survival, your healing, and your freedom.

That is why I wrote this book. And that is why I now walk with my head held high — not just for myself, but for every woman who is still finding the courage to do the same.

If this book touched your heart, or if you simply want to connect, share your story, or invite me to speak at your event — I would love to hear from you. You are never alone.

With love and strength,
